JCC/YMCA Sekach Child Care Center Recognized with Two Stars
The JCC/YMCA Sekach Child Care Center recently earned the Step up to Quality Two Star designation from the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. This important recognition means the center incorporates Ohio standards and guidelines in their planning, they complete yearly specialized training, a low ratio of staff to children is maintained; the staff are provided employee benefits and support; and the administrators and lead teachers are degreed in early childhood education.

State Senator Mark Wagoner attended the recognition and presented an Ohio Senate Proclamation for the newly earned designation to child care director Lori Richard, Executive Director Connie Torrey, and YMCA and JCC President and CEO Robert Alexander.

A fire happened at the JCC during non-business hours. No one was injured or in the building at the time. The fire was contained to one area; however, there was damage to the whirlpool, sauna, steam room and private shower area of the men's locker room. This area is closed for repairs. You may use the group shower, lockers and restroom area and the additional shower/restroom area across the hall. We will keep you updated on the progress of the repairs.
