YMCA/JCC education and care - flexible, affordable and close to home
At the YMCA and JCC, families tell us what's important for their kids - and we listen. They want safe, affordable programs, flexible hours, educational activities, convenient locations close to home, and they want their children to have a good time. The YMCA/JCC early education and afterschool adventure programs offer all of this and more for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Enroll your children by September 6 and save up to $100.


Outdoor pools open for season
Staying close to home this summer? Spend your vacation with us! Max Members have access to two great outdoor pools at the Sylvania JCC/YMCA and at the Eastern Community YMCA in Oregon. The pools are open through Labor Day weekend.

Congratulations to Cheryl Butler and the Weigh In to Win Wellness Team, the YMCA's most recent O.P.I.E. (Outstanding Performance In Employment) Award recipients.

Six staff, Rebecca Boyer, Sarah Bucher, John Hatchr, Todd Ovall, Renall Small and Lori Smith-Spencer, were nominated for their Weigh In to Win program and for the overall success of the YMCA/JCC promotion of sharing fitness and health tips with the community. Robert Alexander, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Toledo, said "The Wellness Team projected a positive image for the YMCA/JCC and demonstrated a caring attitude, enthusiasm and spirit to the community."

Cheryl Butler, Wayman D. Palmer Community YMCA Child Development preschool director, has worked tirelessly to support families of preschool age children. Shantae Brownlee, Wayman Palmer YMCA director, said "Ms. Cheryl is a team player who has made such a positive impact, willing to assist in preschool, school-age, youth sports or maintenance. She lives the YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility." Janece Woulard, Wayman D. Palmer YMCA family program director, added, "Many of the youngsters who have graduated from our program come back just to visit Ms. Cheryl."



Parent Project Offered
Parent Project is for parents of strong willed-youth. If your teenager is bent on breaking house rules, staying out past curfew, doing poorly in school, or any other negative behavior, we can help. A variety of class times and locations are available.For more information, call 419-691-3523.

We are always looking for friendly volunteers to  help in areas of fitness, youth sports, child care  and more! Call or visit our Member Service Desk for more information.

Computer Technology Center
Open to the community. Features  12 computer terminals and educational programs for all ages. Visit us during  open access hours (see below) or call the branch for a schedule of classes.

Silver Sneakers ® Fitness Program
The Silver Sneakers ® Fitness Program is a national exercise program designed exclusively for older adults and offered to Medicare-eligible members. YMCA/JCC offers the SilverSneakers ® Fitness program to eligible members of Anthem BCBS and Humana health plans. For eligibility, contact your insurance provider.
