Radio Disney’s Move It! Tour - live at Fort Meigs Y
Radio Disney is bringing its high-energy, sixty minute stage show to the Fort Meigs YMCA on Friday, July 10 at 6 p.m.  The Radio Disney Move IT! Tour encourages families to get active and illustrates fun ways for them to increase their current activity levels. The event is free and open to all area families.  In addition to the stage show, there will be interactive games and Radio Disney prize giveaways including the chance to win four tickets to an upcoming Jonas Brothers concert to be held at Quicken Loans Area in Cleveland on August 27.  Radio Disney has teamed up with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to bring the Move IT!     Free Respite Child Care for Military Families
    In a continued effort to meet the growing needs of military service members, the YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo will provide respite child care services to deployed National Guard/Reservists and select military personnel. Underwritten by the Department of Defense (DoD), respite child care services are designed to provide licensed child care for children of deployed military personnel. More>>



    YMCA and JCC/United Jewish Council of Greater Toledo awarded $125,000 nonprofit Collaboration Prize
    The YMCA and JCC/United Jewish Council of Greater Toledo has been named winner for The Collaboration Prize for their outstanding model of nonprofit collaboration. The YMCA and JCC/United Jewish Council of Greater Toledo tied with the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science as recognized leaders in leveraging resources, eliminating duplication of programs and services, and increasing efficiency through collaboration. The YMCA and JCC/United Jewish Council, as well as the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science will share the $250,000 prize. Lodestar announced the winner Thursday afternoon March 5, 2009.

News - Fort Meigs Y opens new child care center

The Fort Meigs YMCA is pleased to celebrate the opening of a new Child Care Center - The Fort Meigs YMCA Adventure Center.

The Adventure Center offers full- and part-time child care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old including enrichment classes, Kindergarten Readiness and summer programs.

The 19,000 square foot facility, located at 210 E. South Boundary, has capacity for 173 children and includes a gymnasium, computer lab and art studio. The developmental program in the center is designed to meet the needs of all children with an emphasis on early childhood education.

The center will also be a base for a wide range of services to families such as parent education, family and movie nights, parent's night out events, holiday programs and specialty YMCA classes. The program will begin its first day of child care on Monday, March 2nd. For more information, please contact Sara Perna at 419-251-9622.





Wolf Creek YMCA Kidzone and Family Adventure Center

The Wolf Creek YMCA Kidzone and Family Adventure Center will be changing their check in and out procedures for the 2009 year.

There will be one check in and out area located in the Kidzone for members that need care for their children while working out. Parents's will receive wrist bands and the children will be dropped off and picked up in the Kidzone regardless of if they are using the Kidzone or Family Adventure Center. Parents will need to come a few minutes early prior to dropping their children off to get acquainted with the new check in and out procedures.

All ages with parent. Parents, spend your Friday evenings at the Wolf Creek Y with your entire family. Families can play all together in the pool during Family Swim, spend time in our Family Adventure Center, or participate in special activities.

Silver Sneakers ® Fitness Program

The Silver Sneakers ® Fitness Program is a national exercise program designed exclusively for older adults and offered to Medicare-eligible members. YMCA/JCC  offers the SilverSneakers ® Fitness program to eligible members of Anthem BCBS and Humana health plans.  For eligibility, contact your insurance provider.
