YMCA Child Care

YMCA Child Care

You are a parent with children. You have a million things to worry about.

We get it. You have children and we know that all parents have an active life. One of the problems you are concerned about is finding quality child care you can trust.

The YMCA is committed to your child, your family and your community. We’ve been building community for more than 150 years through our family, wellness, and child care centers. We offer infant + toddler care, preschool, and before + after school programs.

Great Teachers and Staff Spell Success

The #1 reason behind our success in child care and in being the area’s #1 child care provider? It’s simple – our staff and teachers.

The average tenure of our site directors is 10 years; of lead teachers, 7 years.

This experience and stability translate into higher-quality child development and education.

  • Shapes the teacher’s approach to your child
  • Informs the dialogue we have with parents
  • Improve teaching and learning

What Parents Say about the Y

“I strongly feel my daughter is happy at the Y. The teachers go out of their way to make her feel loved, involved, and safe.”

“I love how excited my son is after a great day of learning and having fun with his teachers and friends.”

“We absolutely love the staff. Our daughter looks forward to school every morning. We know she is loved while she is with you.”

FREE Swim Lesson Session for Preschoolers

Swimming is a vital life skill. We believe this so strongly that every child in our preschool program receives one free session (7 weeks) of swim lessons during the school day.

Through a partnership with the Toledo Zoo, preschool children also enjoy a monthly field trip to the zoo.

Competitive Pricing and Flexible Rates and Schedules

We invest where it strengthens the quality of your child’s development and education, and watch our pennies where it doesn’t. The result is quality child care at a very competitive price.

In the spirit of the “Y for All” philosophy, we strive to include every family interested in enrolling their child. In additional to public funds available to qualified families, the Y offers fee assistance based on annual household income.

And, we’re the only provider in town to give parents of part-time children/students the option of choosing the 1-3 day(s) most convenient for them.

So Much Available to Your Family at the Y

The YMCA offers the widest range of family-oriented programs to help people of all ages build healthy spirit, mind, and body.

Programs in our wellness centers, gymnasiums, pools, and summer camps all give your child more opportunities to learn and grow. And, again, membership to the Y provides valuable discounts on these additional programs.

Step Up to Quality!

No surprise that most of our Early Education and School-Age Enrichment programs have earned “Step Up to Quality” recognition from the State of Ohio. (The rest are currently pursuing the first-level rating; several have achieved the highest ratings of 4 and 5 stars.)

This voluntary system verifies that, at minimum (the 1-star rating), our Y centers:

  • Provide your child with quality staff and teachers who complete 20 hours of specialized training each year
  • Offer teachers who fully understand Ohio’s early learning and development standards
  • Build strong relationships with families
  • Demonstrate their commitment to making the program even better every day
