YMCA Gymnastics Center Reopening Guide

YMCA Gymnastics Center: Reopening Guide

Welcome back gymnasts! We are so excited to see you all again and get flipping!

In order for us to reopen, we are under strict guidelines mandated by the Ohio Department of Health. We have created a reference document that details how the state’s guidelines affect your return to Y gymnastics classes. If you register your daughter/son for any of our classes, please take the time to review this document.

Registration Dates

Pre-registration for members already in the program. June 1, 2020
Member registration. June 8, 2020
Non-member registration. June 15, 2020
Classes Start: June 22

What You Need to Know

If you’re considering what to do, here are some highlights to help you decide on the question, “Should we register for classes now or later in the year?”

  • Only 1 adult per gymnast (family) will be allowed in the building. No non-participating siblings may enter; exception, hand-held infants.
  • Everyone entering the building must swipe in, every time.  We need to know who is in the building at all times.
  • ALL staff and ALL adults entering the building are required to wear face coverings (masks).
  • Gymnasts must come dressed for class. Locker rooms will only be available to use as restrooms.
  • Drinking fountains and the vending machine will not be in use. Gymnasts must bring a full water bottle to class.
  • Social distancing will be maintained at all times. Outside sidewalks and all public areas are clearly marked.  Seating is very limited at this time.
  • Traffic flow in and out of the building will be one-way. Enter through the front door. Exit through the side/back door. You may need to wait outside on the sidewalk if there is a line to swipe in.

All of these things are required for us to reopen and to stay open.

We ask for your patience, respect, and kindness as we all work hard to get your children safely back into a place and a program they love!

Help Us All Stay Safe

Keep the Kids at Home
No non-participating siblings may enter; exception, hand-held infants. Space inside the facility is extremely limited.

Wipe Down Equipment
We have fewer classes and different times to allow for the building to be emptied and disinfected between classes.

Keep Your Distance
Respect all signs regarding social distancing. Stay at least six feet away from others wherever possible.

Expect Reduced Capacity
At times of full capacity, you will be asked to wait in a designated area until space is available.

Wear Your Mask
While not required for children, the Y requires that all adults wear their masks entering the building, especially in common areas.

Stay Home If You're Sick
Anyone who has experienced a fever has to be 3 days free of symptoms and 10 days from onset of symptoms before returning (CDC criteria).
