Safety & Security
Your safety is our priority. Our facilities are equipped with a 24-hour video recording system to monitor and ensure your security. While our system provides surveillance, it does not replace the need for emergency response. In case of an emergency, a telephone is available to dial 911. Emergency personnel can access the building during non-staffed hours.
24-HOUR ACCESS GUIDELINES
- Access Cards: Each adult member who wants 24-hour access must have their own access card. These cards cannot be shared, even among family members.
- Member Responsibility: Your access card is for your personal use only. Allowing others to use your card will result in the loss of 24-hour access and possible termination of membership.
- Age Requirement: 24-hour access is available for members aged 18 and older.
- Honor Code: Members must adhere to the YMCA’s core values of honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility. Any breach of these guidelines will result in the revocation of 24-hour access without a refund.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
24-hour access to the YMCA’s wellness center is for YMCA of Greater Toledo members only, 18 years of age and older. It is not available for Nationwide Membership visiting members. Each adult member wanting 24-hour access is required to have their own access card and must use it to gain access outside of staffed hours of operation. Access cards may not be shared with other members (including family). Doing so would be a violation of our guidelines and will result in losing 24-hour access to the YMCA and possible termination of membership.
ACCESS CARDS
Members requesting 24-hour access to the Greater Toledo 24-hour Wellness Center, will be required to sign a 24-hour access waiver to receive their approval for access entry. The primary member must visit Member Services during staffed hours of operation to sign up for access. To access the wellness center, hold the access card under the card reader to the right of the door, you will hear the door activate and see the reader light turn from red to green when the access card is read. Upon activation, pull on the door to gain access (there is a 5 second time limit). To exit the Y, simply walk to the door for motion sensor to activate or use the exit button to the left of the door. When you hear the door activate and see the reader light turn from red to green, push on the door to exit (there is a 5 second time limit). Please ensure the door closes behind you. Do not hold the door for anyone, as they will need to use their access card for access.
HONOR CODE
With the addition of 24-hour access to our wellness center, the Greater Toledo YMCA is adopting a strict honor code based on Y values of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility. If a Y member fails to abide by the guidelines established, their 24-hour access and potentially their membership will be revoked and no refund will be given. These guidelines are in place for the safety and security of our members and deviations from our values are deemed inappropriate to our missions.
GUEST POLICY
Guests are welcome during staffed hours by paying the appropriate guest fee. However, 24-hour access is exclusively for YMCA of Greater Toledo members. Providing access to guests outside of staffed hours will result in the loss of 24-hour privileges for the member.
