KidZone Attendant

Primary function for the branch KidZone Center include being a positive role model, working with children in group activities, maintaining a clean, fun and safe environment for children of all ages in the KidZone Center.


Employee must be 18 years or older with 21 and older preferred. Must have training and experience in supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old. Primary function is to engage children in group activities, maintaining a clean, fun and safe environment in the KidZone. Retired teachers, childcare workers and college students majoring in education are encouraged to apply
Job Requirements:
Trained or willing to be trained in infant and adult First Aid/CPR with oxygen and sign the expectations booklet for working in KidZone.

Must be enthusiastic, creative, have a desire to work with children and a flexible schedule.

  • Maintain and submit accurate attendance records
  • Be prepared to encourage and lead age appropriate activities for children
  • Set the proper example at all times
  • Keep the YMCA policies and philosophy in mind with all activities
  • Be ready to work
  • Assist with other YMCA programs when needed
  • Communicate openly with parents and greet them when they enter and exit the KidZone Center
  • Adhere to all TQM standards
  • Keep area neat and clean
  • Sanitize equipment on a scheduled basis
  • Work as a team member with other employees
  • Promote values of respect, honesty, caring, and responsibility
  • Be flexible in working additional hours


  • Report any problems that you have to your supervisor
  • Know the children’s names in the KidZone and other program areas
  • Communicate openly with parents
  • Lead creative, safe, fun, and enriching activities for the children
  • Be on time and ready to work
  • Dress appropriately
  • Be flexible in work hours
  • Participate in the YMCA Annual Campaign and assist with functions as directed by supervisor and/or management staff
