Fort Meigs YMCA and Perrysburg Heights Youth Sports Staff

General Function

Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Youth Sports Staff will help administer a broad youth sports programs.  Helps to plan, organize and direct quality programs and staff.  Be the contact for all Fort Meigs YMCA programming at the Perrysburg Heights Community Center.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Under the direction of the Program Director, help plan, budget, and manage the youth sports department in order to provide a balanced operation.
  2. Assist in supervision of staff and volunteers, to include scheduling and evaluating.
  3. Program operations to include parent/coaches meetings, instructional classes, skill clinics, scheduling practices and games, team selection, games and celebrations.
  4. Implementation of character development in all aspects of youth sports.
  5. Assist with staff and volunteer recruitment.
  6. Responsible for maintenance of program equipment.
  7. Continually relate to YMCA members and the community in which the YMCA serves and help maintain a positive image.
  8. Direct teaching, coaching and refereeing responsibilities as needed.
  9. Help to prepare and distribute necessary public relations, flyers, newsletters, brochures, etc., as it relates to youth sports and the operation of the Fort Meigs YMCA.
  10. Assist the Program Director in matters as so decided to ensure a successful Fort Meigs YMCA operation.
  11. On Site Contact for all events at the Perrysburg Heights Community Center.

 

Starting wage shall be $8.55 per hour, approximately 10-12 hours per week (predominantly evenings and weekends), and have the opportunity to work an additional 16 hours at the Fort Meigs Y.

 

Gymnastics Instructor

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and implement special events and programs that meet the needs of the Home School Community.

  • Act as a liaison between Home School members and the Program Director.
  • Responsible for maintenance of program supplies.
  • Set the proper example at all times by enforcing all safety rules and following YMCA policies.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with outside agencies and groups.
  • Learn how to utilize Thinsoft and other relevant YMCA computer programs or software.

• If you are unable to work, you are responsible for finding your own sub and communicating that sub to the Program Coordinator

• Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes for each shift

Welcome Specialist

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

The Welcome Specialist in accordance with Association policies is responsible for member satisfaction and retention through impeccable member service and practices that promote engagement. The Welcome Specialist will possess extensive knowledge in member and membership processes, as well as knowledge in Wellness and Group Exercise classes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Meet and exceed membership satisfaction and retention goals as part of the membership team.
  2. Ensure daily member questions and requests are handled in efficient and timely manner.
  3. Work closely with Membership Director and service staff to ensure membership paperwork is obtained and processed accurately to meet the organization’s goal.
  4. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal and financial data for each member.
  5. Maintain a filing system that meets the organization standards.
  6. Monitor and enforce membership policies and procedures.
  7. Ensure the accuracy and productivity of day to day activities of the membership process - i.e. cancelations, associate renewals, on-hold requests, existing member changes, and new member application/bank drafts and suspending bank drafts.
  8. Assist in selling memberships and programs by proactively engaging in conversations on the benefits of Y Cause, memberships and programs.
  9. Serve as the direct supervisor of the Member Service team at the branch. Develop member service schedules to include all branch Member Service Associates.
  • Model the Y character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility through your actions and conversations with members.
  • Engage in active listening with potential members to develop sustainable relationships, determine individual goals and interests.
  • Greet, interview and tour future members.
  • Create outbound calls and emails to generate future members to tour center.
  • Assist in following up on membership inquiries.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on all tours that result in membership.
  • Responsible for follow up of all tours that don’t join within specified time.
  • Facilitate and/or schedule all new members for their Fit 101 appointment.
  • Create process and tracking system to connect members to programs and services.
  • Promote membership offers to all non-member program participants.
  • Track and provide sales, terminations and Fit 101 enrollment updates monthly to supervisor.
  • Implement, distribute and communicate all membership marketing campaigns and other promotions.
  • Coordinate member appreciation and recognition events and programs.
  • Contact all members that haven’t visited the Y using the 21-day report. Track results.
  • Actively participate in the Annual Campaign by helping to raise dollars toward the branch goal.
  • Respond to emergency situations by adhering to the Emergency Action Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Youth Sports Staff

To provide leadership and instruction in all phases of the Youth Sports Program.

Job Segments:

  • Plan and outline lesson plan based on agreed upon program goals, making sure to include the YMCA’s four core values of Honesty, Respect, Caring and Responsibility.
  • Include in each class: Introduction, Warm-up, Review, Skill Development, Personal Growth and Safety.
  • Prepare prior to each class any necessary equipment and supplies, being sure that class begins on time and ends on time.
  • Insure proper use and storage of all equipment used in program.  Keep the storage areas neat, reporting any damaged equipment to the Program Director.
  • Prepare and distribute progress cards as needed.
  • Be courteous, consistent, conscientious, helpful and most of all make sure each child participates fully and has FUN!
  • Keep Program Director and Senior Program Director informed of any changes/problems that arise.
  • Ability to work weekday evenings and weekends as needed.
