Art club is a gathering for students who are interested in all things art! Students will have individual projects in a focus of their choice as well as some large-scale group projects. The program is lead by a professional artist that will lead students to develop their skills.

Beginner level program. This class teaches the foundation skills for drawing in an 8-week course. Students will learn how to draw in 3D forms by using skills taught in this class like value, light, perspective, shadows, figure drawing, and portraits, and more.

Discover your inner artist and learn to create your own work of art in this fun and friendly class. Learn step-by-step how to paint a beautiful painting. No experience is necessary, and all supplies are included for you to create an 11 x 14  painting in a relaxing atmosphere. All supplies are included.

Mary Claire’s love of art began as early as Kindergarten. She graduated from Kendall School of Design, in Grand Rapids, MI. in 1973. She began teaching acrylic painting classes in 2013 at the Eastern Community YMCA, The 577 Foundation since 2015, the Oregon Senior Center since 2017 and Fort Meigs YMCA since 2021. She has participated in many art shows in Michigan and Ohio since 2011.

Class for parent and child to explore different mediums together (and we clean up!).

Students will focus on the basic elements of art & color. This creative thinking program will work on developing their fine motor and gross motor skills.

Students will create a variety of art projects using different mediums including but not limited to acrylic paints, yarns, natural materials and more.

Beginner level program. In this introductory program, students will learn techniques required to create their own clay creations like scratch and attach coil pots and molding.

For kids to explore clay and understand the foundations of handbuilding. Students will be given polymer clay and instruction to create a fun and unique creation. Examples of some projects: coil pots, animal sculptures/dishes, garden decorations, flower pots and more! Students will be able to decorate their creations with them.

Beginner level program.

This program will focus on the basic elements of sculpture through clay through the element of fun. Developmental milestones will help your child grasp shapes and twist and turn objects in their hand.

Manipulating a piece of clay develops the child’s large and small muscles. Clay play fosters eye-hand coordination. Soft clay is receptive and responsive to all kinds of emotional expression. It can be a great way to extend the attention span of some children. Such self-initiated activity can be the perfect match for the developmental needs of the child. Clay stimulates the child’s curiosity. Intelligence, imagination, and creativity are engaged and fostered.

Beginner to Intermediate level program.

Students will decide what story they would like to tell as they develop their own comics in this program. The focus will be on figure drawing and color theory through colored pencils, markers, and more.

Learn to Crochet- Explore fun and creative crocheting class for children. Learn new patterns, skills and techniques. Students will learn basic terminology and how to start crocheting! No experience necessary.

Painting is a blast! Kids will learn how to use different styles of paint such as watercolor and acrylic paint. Whether they are the next Picasso or just want to have fun, this class will be a great opportunity for kids to learn how to express themselves artistically.

Art resin, also known as epoxy resin, is a synthetic material made from two parts: a polymer resin and a hardener. When mixed together, these two parts undergo a chemical reaction that hardens the liquid resin into a solid plastic that resembles glass. The hardening process can take 24–72 hours. Once dry, the resin is non-toxic, hard, shiny, and waterproof. Students will use non-toxic UV Resin to make creations such as jewelry, keychains, figures, suncatchers and more!
