Y-USA CEO Suzanne McCormick to Visit YMCA of Greater Toledo
A Celebration of 160 Years of Local Impact with National Recognition
The YMCA of Greater Toledo is honored to welcome Suzanne McCormick, President and CEO of YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), to our community on Monday, August 18, 2025.
Suzanne, the first woman to lead Y-USA, brings over 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience and a passion for strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Her visit underscores the powerful and lasting impact being made every day across our nine branches — and the national recognition of Toledo’s role in the Y Movement.
As President and CEO of Y-USA, Suzanne leads the national resource office that supports over 2,600 YMCAs and more than 17.4 million members nationwide — including 6.4 million youth. Her distinguished career includes executive leadership roles with United Way Worldwide, United Way Suncoast, and the American Red Cross of Southern Maine. In 2023, she was named to Forbes “50 Over 50” in the Impact category and has been recognized four years in a row by The NonProfit Times in their Power & Influence Top 50 list.
During her time in Toledo, Suzanne will visit three of our branches — West Toledo YMCA, Fort Meigs YMCA, and our new Wayman D. Palmer YMCA — to meet staff, engage with members, and witness firsthand the life-changing programs we deliver every day.
“We are honored to welcome Suzanne McCormick to our YMCA family in Toledo,” said Brad Toft, President & CEO of the YMCA of Greater Toledo. “This visit affirms the extraordinary work being done by our staff and volunteers to ensure every person belongs and thrives at the Y.”
This visit is not only a moment of pride — it’s a reflection of the hard work, heart, and hope that powers our mission across Greater Toledo. We’re excited to share our story with Suzanne and to spotlight the incredible people behind our 160-year legacy.
